This year, we will open the festival with a young Italian ensemble, I Bassifondi, who will interpret a lively and cheerful repertoire on the guitar and lute. They will be followed by Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien, accompanied by young talented soloists already internationally renowned, such as Lucile Boulanger on the viola da gamba and Justin Taylor on the harpsichord (First Price for International Competition of harpsichord in Bruges). They will present a programme entitled “ Treasure of Baroque chamber music France-Germany 1735-1750”.

To finalize this week, we are thrilled to invite Vox Luminis, one of the best vocal ensembles worldwide, who sing in the most prestigious concert halls and festivals and who have received a large range of awards, such as the Gramophone award for their recording “Heinrich Schütz Musicalische Exequien”.

In September, preserved from the high touristic seasons. Salento rediscovers its usual serenity and a milder weather; the music lovers will enjoy a programme which presents Chamber Music, Vocal repertoire and Ancient Music. Besides numerous foreigners visitors will join us to the festival. We hope that this will give an impulsion to the regional economy.

For this new edition in September, Muse Salentine is very honoured to welcome outstanding interpreters such as the soprano Roberta Mameli accompanied on the lute by Luca Pianca. She will give two concerts with Italian pieces from the 17th Century. Within our new musical offerings we will be showing a silent film by Murnau with live music played by the delightful Olga Pashchenko on the piano.

This festival will be also the occasion to discover new talents, such as the violinist Chiara Zanesi and Giulia Nuti on the harpsichord, who will interpret Johann Sebastian Bach’s sonatas for violin, and an internationally renowned ensemble, namely the Ensemble Odhecaton, directed by Paolo Da Col, who will allow us to rediscover Domenico Scarlatti.

Finally, the Epstein will be coming back, for our great joy, to present sonatas for cello by Ludwig van Beethoven.

This year, for the first time, the festival will host a master class, held by Giulia Nuti around the famous Bauyn Manuscript, in conjunction with the release of his new album “Le cœur & l’oreille”, open to all students of the Conservatory Music of the region.

All the concerts will take place in the Palazzo San Giovanni at Alessano, except for some concerts, which will be in other venues in the region. We will inform you in due time.
