ABOUT THE ARTISTS

  • Kebyart (Saxophone Quartet)

The Spanish saxophone quartet Kebyart has consistently broken barriers, firmly establishing itself in the classical music scene. They have debuted at festivals and venues where no ensemble of this kind had performed before, such as the Lockenhaus Festival, Hindsgavl Festival, Perelada Festival, and Schubertíada. They have also inspired composers who had never explored this instrument, such as Jörg Widmann. Kebyart regularly performs in major concert halls like the Philharmonie in Paris, the Elbphilharmonie, the Tonhalle in Zurich, and the Alte Oper, as well as in renowned festivals such as the Mozartwoche, Heidelberger Frühling, Rheingau Festival, and Dresdner Musikfestspiele. They collaborate with internationally acclaimed artists such as Nicolas Altstaedt, Xavier Sabata, and Dénes Várjon, as well as prestigious orchestras including the RSB Berlin, OBC, and ORTVE. The quartet has received continuous training from renowned musicians and chamber ensembles such as Rainer Schmidt, the Cuarteto Casals, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, and Hatto Beyerlee. They have also been part of the European Chamber Music Academy. Their two albums, “Lectures différentes” and “Traum der Jugend”, released by Linn Records, have received excellent reviews, and this year they will record a new album dedicated to Maurice Ravel. Starting in the autumn of 2025, they will be the ensemble-in-residence at the Palau de la Música Catalana for two seasons. Kebyart is also an ambassador for Selmer saxophones and Vandoren accessories.
