Miriam Prandi, cello

Miriam Prandi is an outstanding and versatile musician, equally accomplished as a cellist and pianist in solo and chamber repertoire. Critics highlight the warmth of her sound and the interpretative depth of her performances, noting a maturity beyond her years. In 2014 she won the Overall First Prize at the Rahn Musikpreis in Zurich and debuted at the Tonhalle Zurich with Dvořák’s Cello Concerto. She has since appeared as a soloist at major international venues and festivals, including Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio in Parma, and on European tours with the musicAeterna Orchestra under Teodor Currentzis. In the 2024/25 season she replaced Misha Maisky as a soloist with the Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra. Active in chamber music, she performs at venues such as the Berliner Philharmonie and the Musikverein Vienna. Her discography includes Bach’s Art of Fugue and Dvořák’s Cello Concerto. She plays a 1712 Giovanni Grancino cello.
