
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
- Teodoro Baù (viola da gamba)
Teodoro Baù, born in Italy, began studying the viola da gamba under the guidance of Claudia Pasetto and later completed his studies with Alberto Rasi at the Conservatory of Verona, graduating with top marks, honors, and a special mention. He also studied Renaissance lute with Massimo Lonardi for eight years. He continued his education at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Paolo Pandolfo and at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with Vittorio Ghielmi. He has won several prizes, including the first prize at the MA Festival Competition in Bruges in 2021 and the Bach-Abel Competition in Köthen in 2015. He teaches viola da gamba at the summer course for early music in Urbino and plays in the group “La Fonte Musica” performing medieval repertoire.
- Andrea Buccarella (harpsichord)
Andrea Buccarella, born in Rome in 1987, is a harpsichordist, organist, and conductor specializing in early music. He studied as a Puer Cantor in the Sistine Chapel Choir and graduated with honors in harpsichord and historical keyboards at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. In 2018, he won the First Prize and Outhere Award at the Musica Antiqua Bruges Harpsichord Competition. He is the artistic director of the Abchordis Ensemble, with which he won the First Prize at the Händel Competition in Göttingen. His album TOCCATA received international critical acclaim. He has conducted renowned ensembles such as the Venice Baroque Orchestra and Pomo d’Oro.
